Treatment scheduling may vary from one clinic to another and will depend on the operating hours of the clinic and your dialysis prescription. In most Dialysis clinics, a nursing manager is usually responsible for scheduling patients. Ideally, your treatment schedule should reflect your doctor's dialysis prescription, available time slots and your work/school arrangements.

Your doctor is responsible for prescribing the length of a treatment. It is important to schedule personal activities so that they don't interfere with your dialysis. Staying for the entire prescribed treatment time is also important; treatment length is one of the most important aspects of your care. Repeatedly ending treatments early or against medical advice may have serious health-related results.
